I'm tried of how terrible Gmail is. Id like an email client with folders or categories. If it can sort them automatically (like how Googles now defunct inbox app used to) that would be even better.

Edit: in a couple days or whenever the activity on this post slows down. I will update this post with a list of the most recommended email app.

I like K9 Mail, and it's cool that they're collaborating with Thunderbird to transition it to a mobile version of Thunderbird.

Proton mail all the way. Also signed for Pass for mail aliases.

I love Apple mail. Super fast search through years of email, easy drag and drop between accounts, nice redirect feature. Unfortunately, I’m a Windows user at home and just can’t switch for one email client. I do use Macs at work though. Yeah, Gmail is a drag.
