So I see people are starting move stuff over from reddit. But now my feed is clogged with r/nosleep mirrors, and due to the sorting bugs and lack of a hide read thread option, I think it's worth discussing best way to go about this. I'm not tech savvy, just thought I'd bring it up.

I'm all for the idea, but it feels spammy, especially when sorting by all>new is currently our best browsing experience.

Thanks for reading.

Edit: they said they're dumping them into a defederated instance first as a work around. Thanks to everyone doing their part!

Best experience for me is subscribing and sorting by new

You can block communities ("subreddits") if you want to. On lemmy.world you click on your username in the upper-right corner > Settings > Blocks > Block community.

And if you're also on Kbin: On Kbin there is a block button next to the subscribe button.

Thanks! Though I wonder if there's a way where I don't have to block anything. Perhaps a slower rollout, or something.

That person told me they found a workaround I think where they're dumping them into a defederated instance first and I think that is a good solution.

One of the reasons why there's so many is because that's the big topic everyone has on their minds right now. Give it some time and we'll start talking about other stuff.

I don't necessarily want to block them, but I wish I could mute either the community or the account posting it all

Hmm, makes sense but I'm not sure if that is possible right now. You could simply not subscribe to them use the feed of subscribed communities. Or do block them, but remove the block once most posts have been transferred.

That's what I'm doing, but I was using all to find new places to subscribe to before the spam started.

Even if they were transferred in smaller batches I think that'd be fine. I want to see them. I just don't wanna see only those lol.
