You can't fail him if you try!
Something that seems lost on many people is just who Iroh is.
He's a royal, a tyrant, a (former) textbook fascist. A disturbingly powerful firebender, a war criminal beyond some of the worst of the real world we discuss now. He was devastated by the death of his son... Yet he found peace, spiritual enlightenment, as well as purpose guiding his nephew.
That's the message for me. Not just that he's such a wonderful mentor who believes in others, but that one can find peace and purpose, and become a really decent human being, even after hopelessly damaging their life.
