Summary

Long COVID significantly impacts the U.S. workforce and economy, with millions unable to return to work months after infection.

A Yale study found 14% of Long COVID patients were unemployed three months post-infection, often due to persistent symptoms.

Globally, Long COVID costs an estimated $1 trillion annually, with U.S. economic losses exceeding $3.7 trillion.

It strains healthcare systems and increases demand for disability benefits. Experts urge investments in Long COVID research, treatment, and prevention, emphasizing vaccination as the most effective tool to mitigate its health and economic toll.

Long covid is straight up brain damage.

All the people who said they just wanted people to get sick to build up immunity were morons and should have listened to the medical experts who made it extremely clear that it was a dangerous illness comparable to the ones we had eradicated with vaccines like polio and measles that often left people with debilitating long term effects even when they didn't kill.

I've had Covid four times. Three of them after I was vaxxed. The last time was last Christmas. While first Covid tried to kill me. The Covid from last Christmas had had thue longest time of negative impact on my life. I used to work out 30 minutes a day. For many months I couldn't climb a staircase or walk around the mall, much less work out. Just over a month ago I got back on the Tread. I have made it back to 15 minutes a day. It kills me, but I'm doing it.

Fuck long Covid!

Please be careful, I’ve been told not to push through as it will damage my heart. Currently 3 years in and my stamina for walking or washing up has increased from ~10 mins to ~20 mins, before I get out of breath.

Thanks! I really appreciate your concern. I do have doctor's clearance so I think I'm OK.

I wish you well in your journey to recovery.
