Summary

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warned of potential Russian hybrid warfare, including cyberattacks and disinformation campaigns, ahead of Germany’s snap elections.

He highlighted Russia’s attempts to influence German politics by targeting infrastructure, spreading disinformation on social media, and supporting far-right groups like AfD.

Pistorius also raised concerns about Russia’s military rearmament by 2030, which could challenge NATO unity.

Germany is ramping up military spending, expanding its navy, and increasing troop targets, but Pistorius emphasized the need for long-term efforts to address decades of underfunding.

I wish EU would stop beating around the bush and just accept that Russia is a terrorist state that needs to be contained, we can no longer count on USA having our back when trump takes office.

I'm not saying that we should attack them, but we need to keep their ships out of our waters, and treat every Russian like a potential enemy, unless proven otherwise.

I am so tired of seeing politicians tip-toe around what seams like the obvious conclusion, that Russia see itself as being at war with with "the west", and if we allow them to (as Pistorius puts it) "Pinprick us", and pit us against each other, we wont be able to act if we wait too long.

People keep calling it a temporary solution as we transition to electric warfare, but really it's just another handout to Big Oil Warfare.

An important and timely warning that will probably go unheeded.

Powerful people sucking at tech is one of the ways we get a different batch of powerful people who suck at tech.
