I thought consumer nvme ssds went up to 8tb?

They do as far as I know. From watching Frameworks release video, I think i they meant 16 TB of additional storage

Edit: After looking at frameworks website, this is the case. The expansion card has two NVME slots with the capacity to add up to 16TB. The article is poorly worded.

No the article says 4x 4tb drives, you may have been right with your first comment. They may be limited to 4tb drives.

With 8TB SSDs now available, that means you can add 16TB to your Framework Laptop 16, in addition to the two internal M.2 drive slots!
