If I want to see more interesting videos on this great foss platform, I better learn more words and phrases to enjoy them more.

I’m also happy that there are Quebec instances.

It's all fun and games until you meet the French 😂

It's not as bad as I make it sound, though they are a people who are very proud of their language, and not particularly tolerant of people who butcher it.

The Parisians generally can't be arsed with your efforts and speak English anyway - fair enough, their English is better than your Français 99% of the time.

The rest of the French are absolutely brutal, and in a good way. If they figure that you're learning the language, then they will let you learn - even if it means letting you flail and and stutter, or even outright sink when you speak. Fair play, it makes you learn faster - they absolutely will not switch to English.

It's great for the learner, even if it appears overly blunt (or even outright hostile) to begin with. 11/10 would try speaking again A++++

I think the post is mostly about Canadian French, specifically Québécois.

Maybe even Métis French, Chiac, or Acadian French.

What are some of your favorite channels? I'm also switching most of my content to French in order to immerse myself better in the language.

I’m tipping my toes more into the platform every week as I get more comfortable with the project. I suppose right now my favourite channels are the Linux Experiment and Transport Evolved.
