It costs almost the same as an Analogue Pocket and has way fewer features.

The Last Game Boy You’ll Ever Buy

No matter how repairable this thing is, I guarantee you that original Game Boys pretty much offer the same level of repairability. I bought all of my GBs (DMG01, GBC, GBA SP) in broken state and repaired them; it's not that hard.

For that price you can almost certainly find original hardware and have fun repairing it. That's what iFixit should advocate for IMO.

Edit: There's a Logan Paul Edition.... What?

I will not support any company that pays this Logan MF any Dollars for using his name..

Same... If you know about his "trip" to Japan you know that he's not exactly passionate about retro gaming either.

I wonder why they chose him, of all people, as their brand ambassador. The rest of their marketing caters heavily towards people who grew up with the original Game Boys, i.e. people who are way to old to even know about this idiot.

Logan Paul edition... Just wow.

We're talking 90's SMT in a Gameboy Color, right? Nothing too microscopic on the board?

I'm sure the GBC would be easier to repair on a component level; less components and overall simpler board design. Only exception could be the screen.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

There are folks who make new screens specifically for them.

[–] FireWire400 1 points 2 days ago

But replacing the screen isn't as trivial as it may be on the Chromatic.

Looks nice but I won't buy anything Palmer Luckey is involved in.

Oculus VR maker (whatever) and Trump donor/fanboy (okay, you really have a point).

And military contractor!

What an unsympathetic human being that is 🫢

The scans were indeed neat.

For those with pocket change left over this holiday season, the Lumafield Neptune industrial CT scanner can be yours starting at 750K USD. To use it only costs 54-75K USD annually.

Reminded me of the TSA scan of my bag I got to go through with the agent recently where there was clear 3d object segmentation that allowed me to point out my coffee grinder and identify but not talk about my portable butt washer.

If you ask nicely they will not export your 3d bag image on a USB for you.

They did a good job. Although for the price you can get a refurbished sp but it's neat what they did.
