Reminds me of the guy who got a “null” vanity plate, and he got all the tickets for when an officer forgot to record the plate or some other data issue

For that one, a number of departments had a policy of writing NULL as the plate if it was unknown or the car didn’t have a plate.

However, for $15 on Amazon and eBay, some Trekkies have been easily replacing their real plates with the same novelty plates — and getting away with it.

Im sorry, but that's just too funny.
I feel for the lady, but I'm laughing too

I was going to say "that doesn't make sense because it's not just 'plate' on a ticket it's 'plate+state'", but that DEFINITELY looks like a New York plate...

Ohio dropped its front plate requirement a few years ago, and stopped issuing a second plate. People put all kinds of novelty plates on the front now, and a lot of them look like actual plates.

You mess with the bull, you get the horns.

And by "mess with the bull", I mean exist in American society. And by "get the horns", I mean get fucked over by an impersonal and impassionate system designed by the wealthy to only sustain their own wealth at the expense of everyone else.

There should be some civil servant or elected official who could help this woman. Unfortunately, this isn't the type of thing you can ignore and it will go away, so I understand her stress and fears. This is not only eating up her time, but causing financial strain for an individual on a fixed income.

I had some novelty plates and even barring something like this its a pain. It makes you far to identifiable and its not worth it to me whatever it might be.

Tangentially related, I once saw the vanity plate WSKYGRL. I guess she liked getting pulled over.

Can you explain this one? DDG gave me Milana Vayntrub’s wiki, but I couldn’t find the acronym

[–] pjwestin 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh, it was just Whiskey Girl. Thought that was a dumb think to put on a motor vehicle.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

Right, I have no idea why that other result came up then 😅 and I could not make WSKYGRL make sense

I think its supposed to be a short form of "Whiskey Girl"
