Today, however, I write to you with grave concerns about the integrity of the 2024 presidential election and the urgent need for a forensic audit to restore trust in our democracy.

Every presidential should be audited and it should be done by a non-partisan entity.

It's really sad seeing calls from Democrats to do their own version of Stop the Steal, though.

It's a false equivalency. We'll accept the results of a properly conducted audit. The other side is calling people and demanding that they "find" more votes.

Eh, this talk about "restoring trust in our democracy" is right out of the Stop the Steal playbook.

I'd be much more sympathetic to this point of view if this bullshit didn't pop up from the opposition after a lost election, because that seems to be the only time anyone gives a shit about election integrity. And TBH, that's how it should be. All the info we do have on voting and election fraud shows that it is exceedingly rare.

They had a lot more in their playbook than just that. That's why it's different. Also I agree that it should happen every time regardless of who wins.

Yeah, but that's the problem, right? There could be all the evidence in the world and people would still say "we can't do it because they whined for four years about it."

Personally I do think electronic voting is an absolutely stupid idea because you will always have these concerns about the machines.
