I have immich installed on two different Pixel phones, a 6a and a 7. It will not update photos in the background - only when it is open in the foreground. What's going on with that?
I have automatic background backup on in the app, and allow background usage enabled for the app in the phone battery usage settings.
What am I missing?

Apparently I can't read.
But I did have background apps close on me when my phone was low on RAM. Maybe that's an issue.
Is there somewhere else in the phone settings that could be interfering?
If you tap on baxkground usage, not the toggle, for the app did you make it unrestricted?
I have the same issue on an S21. No answer for you, just solidarity.
