Christian, Apollo’s developer, has written a long post detailing how the talks have broken down, as well as going forward.

Also, it sounds like Reddit has been lying through their teeth about a bunch of stuff around timelines and smears they’ve publicly made about Christian, but Christian brought receipts and phone call records.

Hot damn that’s insane, shit is really going down. All a darned shame really, I guess nothing lasts forever and thank goodness for this option of Lemmy! Apollo is the app I used, it’s great and I love it. Hope Christian can make something for Lemmy, that would be awesome.

I am in the same boat. Do you have an app for Lemmy on iOS yet?

Mlem is still in pretty early yet active development and missing a bunch of features or isn’t yet super intuitive, but there’s a test flight for it. I’ve been using it for a week or so now. https://join-lemmy.org/apps/

I've been trying to use Mlem, but it must be really early, because I can't wrap my head around it at all.

I’ve been using it for a week, and mostly understand it if you have questions.

Mlem is improving quickly. But I’m hoping lemmy can have reasonably comparable apps to Apollo someday (meaning similar UI; fewer features is okay)

I'm trying to use Mlem iOS app, but it is still in early development...

Very sad news, that’s also why I’m here finally.

The good side is, that with reddit “gone”, a platform like this will get a large influx of users and the well-deserved spotlight. Scrolling all over lemmy I felt a child-like excitment of discovering something new and great, which is so rare these days.

Also, just because something doesn’t last forever, doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing. We got to cherish Apollo and reddit for many years, now the time has come to make way for something new.

This whole thing has been unreal.

I use it too and it seems very early/limited still. Seems to work for comments and likes at least though.
