Do the mods even know that Lemmy exists?

It's the best group on Reddit with good and active moderators. They deserve better than this disrespect from the company

Hi there. One of the r/asoiaf mods here.

Yes, we're aware that Lemmy exists, and we're happy to see this community doing well. :-)

I won't be on reddit too much moving forward due to the API fiasco (plus I was more of a lurker the last couple of years anyway). I'm hoping to pivot more into Lemmy. I think since of the other mods are also on Lemmy, but we haven't had much of a chance to coordinate, with all that's been happening recently.

Edit: in fact, I just realized that I was the one who created this Lemmy community! Lol

I'd be happy for r/asoiaf to migrate to Lemmy, but first impressions are most important. If this site gets linked from Reddit and it's totally devoid of content, people will write it off and never return. I'm hoping to do my part by starting a weekly post series reviewing some of the most interesting theories, but i think this place needs daily posts getting 10+ comments before we should ask the Reddit mods to publicly endorse a migration.

I dont see why not, unless you expect a trojan horse type situation

The sub remains blacked out so it's the only way to reach them AFAIK.

I have been starved for more asoiaf content. I used to visit that sub daily, I wish they would encourage people to move over.

Apparently that worked out lol. The mods hopefully will make their intent to migrate much more explicit with a pinned post and more clear links.

Wait what? For real?

I think it's a good idea if you haven't already. More people on lemmy is good, especially for smaller communities like this.
