Historical Artifacts

Just a community for everyone to share artifacts, reconstructions, or replicas for the historically-inclined to admire!

Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.

Generally speaking, ruins should go to [email protected]

Illustrations of the past should go to [email protected]

Photos of the past should go to [email protected]

Yes, it's a flag of surrender. And also a literal dishtowel. They used what they had, which wasn't much, apparently, lmao

I think I’ll start hanging these in my house and office and a bumper sticker on my car and shirts and wallets and make it my personality because it’s our heritage

Why waste money on a flag of surrender you'll only use once when you have a perfectly good towel? It's just sensible economic policy

Legitimately can't argue with that

it's not like people go into war with the plan to surrender. as a soldier, you'll get weird looks if you pack a flag specifically for surrendering. like "don't jinx it man"

I don't know if I would go so far as to say it was the final flag.
