Out of Context Comics
Comic panels taken out of comics so we can make fun of them!! We love the golden age stuff!
Rules:
-
Comics must come from actual comic books. No AI or Photoshops.
-
Single panels are preferred.
-
Comics should be unintentionally funny. Spider-man cracking wise is not what this is about.
-
Don't be a dick.
-
I can't believe I've had to add this... NO RACISM.
Ooh, I actually remember this one!
So, this is a panel from Dragonsword, a backup feature appearing in DC's Warlord series, by Mike Grell. Dragonsword was by Paul Levitz and Tom Yeates, and appeared in issues #51–54 (November 1981–February 1982).
It was a nice swords & sorcery-type story that was elevated by having sort of 'mythic / legendary' vibes, and also by the way that the hero and his weapon were constantly squabbling with each other, not unlike Herbert and his sword in Trondheim's brilliant Donjon series.
Me too chimp. Me too...
For real this time science has gone too far
