After the box office success of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, it’s no surprise that Mattel wants to bring more toy-fueled projects to Hollywood.

Like they haven’t been making licensed movies based on toys since the 80s

Transformers? GI joe? Toy Story? Lego? Etc

Every one of these concepts reeks of fabricated edginess for the sake of coasting on novelty value, and I for one-
