A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Often there is some sort of emotional conflict that makes you go to hate for emotional self protection. Chances are your mindset is part of the problem. To stop hating you need to be vulnerable.

I wish I learned that younger in life

Reminds me of American History X

Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it.

Yeah I think hate is a draining and destructive emotion.

There's situations where it should be used, but it should be used wisely. For example, it takes an insane amount of shady behavior to get under my skin, but when people do, they earn my hate and that makes me set very solid boundaries. But it would be bad to destroy friendships for hating someone because we got on each other's nerves for a while.

What I've always tried to follow is: "Hate only people who hate people, and hate them only for their hate."

It's not about hating the guy on the other side because someone told you to. I mean, you should hate someone because they're an asshole, or a pervert, or snob, or they're lazy, or arrogant or an idiot or know-it-all. Those are reasons to dislike somebody. You don't hate a person because someone told you to. You have to learn to despise people on a personal level. Not because they're red, or because they're blue, but because ya know them, and you see them every single day. And you can't stand them, because they're a complete and total fucking douchebag.

My view is hate the system, not the people.
