Boeing is in the "and find out" phase.

Naturally, a leaner Boeing will emerge. An emaciated Boeing. A Boeing ready to continue to royally fuck up, while running more ragged with fewer resources and less talent.

I'm down with them being acquired by the government. It can only get worse after January.

The acquisition would take years to plan, get political backing, beat legal challenges, and then implement. Sadly nationalization of a company as large as Boeing would have to start the moment a president started a term.
