I'd say it's unethical to breed them, but not to adopt them if that's in their best interest.
Yeah, breading is really messed up. If the cats have access to outside, i'd say it's ethical to adopt.
I think this is more of a problem with capitalism, than a problem with breeding being fundamentally wrong, we're incentivized to breed as poorly as possible, it's a race to the bottom.
That being said, I think some animals are bred pretty carefully, definitely not dogs and cats, but certain insect breeding operations are pretty ethical just because being ethical with them is insanely easy.
Definitely cats! Especially the naked ones!
yoo like that sphynx thing? they look super weird id def consider having one if i were to get a cat xD
Yeah! I have one! He's super chill and cozy. They're pretty expensive tho.
:o... cool.
Dog person. I've met a few cats I liked, but in general if I wanted to live with a creature that consumed resources and ignored me I'd still be married. :-P
Neither, really. I can see the appeal of both, but would not have one of either myself. I married a lady that came with a cat, though, so technically more of a cat person.
I thought we were all lizard people here
sssshhhh.....
don't let them know....
I've always been a cat lover. Whether or not I'm a person is still up for debate.
I personally love dogs, but I've never had a cat, and they seem pretty cool.
Definitely cats, I've lived with a dog now (though not currently) and I can get along with them fine, but I understand cats in a way that I'll never understand dogs
I can't take care of myself, how would I care of an animal?
But I have babysit... Sitted? Babysat? Babyshat? A kitten, and dang he grew on me. So I kinda want one, but... It's just not for me.
As for dogs, family had two dogs and while Iiked them, neither liked me back as much as everyone says dogs do. I've been lied to. And I'm not one for walking. So if anything, more of a cat person then.
dogs>cats>none. somehow found out foxes are the cutest thing ever tho and i like them more than both
Dogs. 100% dogs.
Iβve grown up with both and have both now.
Dogs are easier to take care of. They are way more affectionate. They love car adventures, hiking and swimming. They are part of the pact.
The whole βcats are self sufficientβ thing is π. The cat box is gross, I rather use a little bag and pick up dog poop.
PorquΓ© no los dos? I like them both, especially when they get along in the same household!
Definitely a cat person
I've had numerous tabbies throughout my life and I took care of a Husky, Blue Staffy, and Cockerpoodle in the past (not at the same time), I loved them all, but ultimately cats are just more self sufficient than dogs, and significantly quieter than the small dogs I've had to take care of
I wish I had the same quiet experience. My cat is louder than any dog Iβve ever seen. He just walks around screaming. He has since he was a kitten. 16 years later and itβs just as loud just but a bit deeper lol.
Snakes! Also dogs
I am on team Total Animal Liberation (but also have a dog)
Me too, although I think adoption can be okay
Yep, gotta clean up the mess we left as humanity. We can not abandon them while they need us. Yet breeders should be absolutely illegal.
Yet breeders should be absolutely illegal.
I agree. Even individual pet owners (or guardians) breeding with their pet is problematic imo. Certainly when they choose the breeding partners.
But even if the dogs are free to choose themselves you could argue that you shouldn't let them breed because it would be better to adopt animals in need rather than create new animals.

The other day I had a conversation with someone who also rejects breeding but said that (female) dogs should give birth at least once in their life (because they read, it would lower uterus cancer risk). Almost as if people (even after a pandemic) still did not understand exponential growth.
Kitties <3
Depends on where I live. Suburbs? Cat. House near the woods? Dog. Mansion or castle? Cat. Town or village? Dog. City centre? Something exotic, like a snake or a lizard. Mountains? Bird of prey.
Cats if I have to choose. Both can be great but I don't really want to keep animals as pets.
Yes. And also horses.
I like both. But if I had to pick, itβd be cats.
The reason is that many people around here donβt handle their dogs well. That results in noise (hysterical barks in some cases) and poo landmines you have to watch out for.
Well-trained dogs? Appreciate them. Dogs I personally know? Good boys! Random dogs from the neighborhood? No thanks.
Having owned both, cats and dogs are quite different, and great in their own right. Dogs as a trusty companion, cats as a peculiar room mate.
Cats are the mascot of the Internet. I love dogs too, but they require a lot of maintenance and attention compared to cats. Cats are the most arrogant creatures on Earth, and maybe the only ones that 'truly' live out their philosophy of life; of, "I'm better than you, and I know it."
My username says it all
Why not both? ;)
I love both, even though I have cats.
Both. I have both
Both of them are great! Β‘Ambos es lindos!
Why not both? I grew up in a household with a Great Dane and a Devon Rex. It was a amusing couple.
Dog. Lifts up my day after I get home.
I love both. I had a Queensland Heeler when I was a kid but we have always took in stray cats from the neighborhood.
