How can I ensure that I'm seeding a lot? (self.qbittorrent)

I download Linux isos and there are sometimes not a lot of seeds and a lot of peers. I rarely see any upload rates. How can I be one of the 6 people to have downloaded a torrent and none of the 220 peers are receiving data from me? What should I be checking to make sure seeding is working properly? Even if I leave it there for hours I come back to 0 bytes uploaded.
