The first time I had a conversation about something and then started getting ads for that thing on my phone was the first time I went "ok nope not ok with that not ok with that at all" with regards to privacy and I've only gotten more and more pissed off since.

Haven't watched this video, but it was debunked million times that it's not possible with current technology.

OP experienced confirmation bias, a common illusion of the human brain. Google scan emails, a lot of ways they could knew about this, not via the microphone.

This is why my friend group lists out funny products into each other's phones when unattended

Funny enough tho I searched for a guillotine when Bezos overrode the WaPo to send a message in the logs but have yet to see any ads for them.

Just an anomaly I’m sure.

Meanwhile, Twitch, a company owned by Amazon, gives me ads for things that I'm not even interested in. I mean, they totally fail at targeted advertising. I got an ad for the VA yesterday, which is fine, but it can't be targeted at me because I'm not a veteran. The military wouldn't even let me in because I have asthma. Never change, Twitch.

I was looking at bras on Amazon. And clicked on one that was also a breast pump. And this led to me being advertised baby stuff for 6 months.
