What is Inktober?

Inktober is a yearly art event intended to improve your inking skills. Every day, there's a prompt which everyone will draw with either ink on paper or digital inking

Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.

What to do

The main two ways to participate are to draw daily like a marathon or every second day like a semi-marathon. The operative word being marathon. It doesn't have to be your best piece of art or even something you're proud of in any way. As the creator of this community, I know quite a bit of what I create will be absolute trash. I'm ok with this though.

A daily post will be pinned at the top to round up each days work. One may either make a post to the community, or comment on the pinned post.

Be kind Constructive criticism at most. This is a strictly positive community meant to keep a habit for a period of time. If you don't enjoy someones art and can't phrase any advice in a supportive way don't speak up. This will be strongly enforced with bans if need be. A dictatorship of kindness. October is over, and the main Inktober challenge is done. Thank you to everyone that participated, and congrats to everyone that made it through the entire 31 days!

Many of you will be taking a well-deserved break, but for those of us looking to continue or join in on the fun, we will continue to post prompts from the weekly Inktober52 challenges.

As always, these are the rules:

Please remember to be kind. All skill levels are welcome here.
AI art is not allowed.
Submissions must be based on the given prompt, but either traditional or digital mediums are welcome.

What day of the week will these be posted?

This will be my first time doing an Inktober outside of October so take this with a grain of salt, but judging by posts sent out by Inktober in the past, the prompts seem to go out every Wednesday night / Thursday.

That seems a little odd to me, as I would've assumed that it would fall on a weekend or Mondays, even, but all the posts I've found so far seem to have been sent out on a Thursday.
