Tbh I was never a big fan of how in DOS2 you had to play the "origin" characters in order to get all the good voice lines, I like that they are saying that using a fully custom character of my own is the preferred, intended experience.

Wasn't it kind of the same with original sin 2? I also first played my own character before replaying it with an origin character to see all the cool dialogue.
The thing is that I hope the game is balanced in such a way, that players can make whatever character they want and still have a viable build. That is a good thing!
I am sure you can play whatever you wanted and it will be a fun play through.
Human wizard will be my first play through.
