Old story but back when rapidkl buses use tickets which is valid for a whole day per purchase, if you're lucky and your face blur sotong rezeki or something, when you're queueing to alight the bus, quite regularly you'll get someone passing a ticket they either bought or been paid forward (heheh)
Transportation
Everything about transportation in Malaysia.

Man, I couldn't remember how far back that was. Was it early after the consolidation of the private operators? I recall IntraKota one.
Idk if it was early but definitely around 2011-2012 at the latest for my anecdote - orang tua stories lmao
Oh yeah, I think I remember the one time I thought I can buy 1 ticket to go anywhere but then had to buy another ticket home. I somehow forgot how RapidKL works.
Not sure if someone else do this as well but I enjoy taking the train mostly for people-watching.
Also enjoy when breezing past vehicles stuck in traffic.
insert asuka pathetic macro while looking over the traffic
Remember that epic LRT breakdown that stalled so ma y people? (OK there have been several but hear me out) But anyway I was supposed to meet a friend for dinner that night and he thought he will be stuck in KL till late night. I told him to take the Skypark Link instead. He never heard about it, but took it and was at our dinner early. He evaded the epic stuck Ness in KL and rode in comfort home.
Rip Skypark Link tho 😭
Low ridership caused them to suspend Skypark Link services for at least a year (since Feb 2023). There are 2 provisional stations along the branch after Subang Jaya, which I'm not sure if there are active plans to build them.
OK there have been several
Truly a "1 time it's a tragedy, many times it's a statistics" stuff. 😔
But as you demonstrated, there are many ways in and out of the city center. There are backup routes in most cases.
Just visiting KL, disregarding the lack of last mile transport, MRT is very comfortable, nice NVH and no weird NPCs.
I've noticed that people no longer rush to get on like Mumbai videos lol, they generally will stand by the side and let people alight. back when MRT first started and I lived here it wasn't like this.

I would never not love these express shuttles by KTM during peak hours. It helps to reduce the congestion on the platforms, and most of the commuters actually get to have a seat. I do hope the Komuter will have a much better frequency in the future, like its heyday during Najib's administration.
I do hope Anthony Loke lays down the foundation to increase the number of rolling stocks to better facilitate for a more efficient Komuter operation.
