What kind are these? I am not clear on their mechanism but would like to know. I might make a 3d printed spinoff.

How deep are the dog holes, as in the thickness of your bench top?

Table is 1-1/2" (3/4" MDF + 3/4" plywood). The 3/4" holes drilled with a Forstner bit go all the way through. The clamps are DDWT MFT style hold down clamps.

Having those and holdfasts are a game changer. Going from building my workbench on some saw horses and plywood with misc clamps to a proper bench with dog holes for bench dogs and holdfasts (with vises too) literally felt like easy mode on my next project lol

I had no idea there was such a thing. I wonder if I can make a portable platform with the holes to use on my kitchen table when I need to hold things still. Currently, if I need something held, I put it on a cutting mat and tape the ever-loving snot out of it. Not really ideal lol
