Just finished this movie after reading the book. A lot of the plotlines were way too truncated, but I was actually fine with them leaning more into the “ghost” aspect rather than the book’s ending.

The IMDB entry mentions there was enough content for a mini series, so a lot of it ended up on the cutting room floor. There was a lot of potential here in no small part due to a helluva cast. I would love for the studio to dig out the footage and re-edit it. It’s unlikely to happen but it does make me wonder if one of the streamers would ever consider making a more complete mini series version of the story.

I’ve been meaning to see it as a fan of both horror movies and Fred Astaire. Such a weird final movie for him.
