Bungie dropped several articles about the future of Destiny today. I have not had a chance yet to read them all. See links below:

I love that they're looking into all of this actively, however we still gotta get to that point. Summer 2025 is a long time away.

We still have two story acts until then, and that is already a problem in itself. Unless Revenant and Heresy are considerably beefed up, in comparison to the Echoes episode, finding things to do in this game will be a substantial challenge. It already is

Based on what they showed I think Heresy will be more beefed up considering the Dreadnought is coming back. Whether that's an actual explorable area or just an area where we do activities remains to be seen. The content drops that wrap up the year tend to be the best.

Echoes has big "Season that ships with the big expansion" vibes for me. Where there's a barebones story and a token activity thrown in.

Revenant I've got no idea. Middle of the year content is either a banger (Season of the Haunted/Witch) or a complete bust (Season of the Warmind/Pirate Season)

Bungie kind of shot themselves in the foot with that year of Light 3.0. Those seasons had a lot more going for them with essentially new subclasses coming out. Gave people a lot of content to chew on. Now, seasons and Episodes are just kind of meh.

I play now rarely - a 2-3 hours a week and the current cadence of content is sustaining my apetite, but I understand a lot of people want a little bit more.

I'm worried that Bungie will replace 60USD expansion with two 40USD ones, calling that "a better value" and a lot of players will not put up with it. Especially with all the cuts (QA and art) they may have a problem keeping up with quality.

I'm wishing them well, but it may be a hard sell.
