As a healthcare provider (not trans), this sounds like a failure of admin than a failure of care. The hospital recognized that she needed specialized treatment that they dont provide and made an appropriate referral for care. If they had arranged transport, then all would be good. Although her go referred her to emergency, I assume they didn't send her by ambulance either. Holles st hospital is not fare from st James hospital, so transfer by the hospital or by the patient themselves would have been pretty easy.

What is heartening is the fact that despite the care not being availabke in Ireland, she was referred by the health service to get it, presumably free, overseas, as they also do of wailists are too long. Also, they are being taken to task for not being better, but this does not, on the fact of it, seem like blatant discrimination, rather lack of knowledge about where to seek trans healthcare by the wider medical community.
