Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The big deal about this is that the very, very pro-Trump judge did not honor Trump's request to move the trial until after the election (when Trump would have appointed an attorney general to dismiss the case).

Indeed! While I’m not ready to believe she’s figured out her bullshit isn’t going to fly, this is a good sign!

He'll just fire his lawyers weeks before the trial and demand a delay for him to find new ones. Rinse and repeat way past the elections.

That's a long time to give Trump to say some dumb shit.

Very true, and the Orange One seems to have a knack for the court of public opinion, at least with the rubes. Not sure how effective it will be against Jack Smith, though.

Now let's see when DC charges drop. Today?

So, he’s going to be on trial when he accepts the GOP nomination. Nice

How do you embed a link in a comment?

[–] Acronymesis 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Place the words you wish to have the link embedded into within brackets [like this] and then immediately follow the right bracket with the link within parentheses (https://likethis.com).

Here's a formatting how-to for Lemmy if it helps!

Thanks, I wish I could read.

What forcing function is there to make sure Trump's lawyers are actually looking over the evidence. I strongly suspect that they are being given time to look over discovery but are merely planning on throwing out another excuse when May comes by. Those excuses will likely sound like, "well we need more time, nevermind the fact that we actually had time to do the thing."

I am no lawyer, but you can bet the Orange One’s team will try to throw everything AND the kitchen sink to try to delay this until after the general election. If not “wE dIdN’t HaVe EnOuGh TiMe tO vIeW eViDeNcE¡”, it will be something else, and it will be up to Judge Aileen to determine whether the need for delay has merit.

Not the best prospects for swift justice (let alone the delays that dragged it out thus far), but this compromise date by Aileen is better than I think most expected.
