When streaming to connected devices via Spotify Connect on iOS, users were previously able to use the physical buttons on their iPhone to adjust the volume. But this will no longer work.

Yeah, but fucking why? Like... I know companies like fucking over consumers. But why? What benefit do they get from this? Is it a control thing? Is making things more difficult for consumers just a fetish or something?

Presumably because, by making the Spotify experience feel worse, it increases the chance that people will switch to Apple Music instead

I didn't even know people still used Apple Music to be perfectly honest. At least everyone I know. Kinda forgot it was even a thing.
