Yay! It's Friday!

After a week of niceish weather, we await the inevitable rain. But on the plus side, it's almost the weekend!

Personally we are off camping, in doing so encouraging precipitation. But what exciting things do you have planned for the weekend?

Happy Friday folks.

Weekend couldn’t come fast enough, work has been shit. Get through today then I plan to do sweet fuck all tomorrow and Sunday.

Although, the kids or my wife will probably mess with those plans and I’ll end up dragged out against my will.

At least with you going camping it’ll be raining now!

It's my SO's birthday tomorrow, so we are off out to her chosen museum followed by a meal - and, apparently, potentially picking up a chest of drawers in between.

Nothing much lined up for Sunday, but I have agreed to do a mock interview for a friend sometime in the next few days. The real one is on Weds.

Some might say the lawn needs mowing again, but with rain a foregone conclusion, that's out of the question now. What a pity.

I can feel your regret at not being able to mow. My sympathies.

Tomorrow sounds fun though, grats on your new furniture!

Enduring two back-to-back Friday afternoon meetings. I work with psychopaths.

Thankfully I work from home and can already start drinking!

Don't these people have lives and families?!

Enjoy camping and I hope things don't get entirely TOO muddy!

We're shut-ins this weekend. Got the holiday of a lifetime coming up in two weeks (assuming strikes don't scupper it) so we're going into lockdown mode to avoid picking up any sort of germs and ruining everything. Two weeks might seem excessive but we're not exactly social butterflies so it's fairly easy for us, and also when I get sick I get SICK so better safe than sorry.

I am a bit sad though because there's a knitting group that only happens once a month and it's on tomorrow and I can't go. On the other hand it's also a so-called "24 Hours of Cross Stitch" weekend starting today (crafters have lots of fun events, dontchaknow?) so plans are to...um...cross stitch a lot!

New season of Futurama drops next week and my partner hasn't seen all of the existing ones so we'll be marathoning that in the background all weekend while I stitch and he plays games. Plus he's planning to cook some kind of fancy omelette. Sounds good to me!

Oh, exciting times! Where you all off to?

[–] TeaHands 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Big fancy cruise, basically.

Other half's dad is single and well-off and getting on in years so he decided the best thing to do with his accumulated riches is take the whole family on a big fancy blowout trip. Flights, cruise, excursions, everything paid for. There's absolutely no way we could ever afford this type of thing on our own so it's kind of a big deal.

We were originally supposed to go in 2020 but that obviously didn't pan out. And now we've had this booked for ages only for the Gatwick strikes to be announced, so starting to get a bit nervous!

Amazing - I hope you all have a cracking time!

Can't wait to do absolutely naff all this weekend after an incredibly rammed week at work! Going into proper introvert mode and intend to avoid all outside life for the next 2 days.

That's the way to do it, like.

It will soon be time for a cool beer, perhaps this one as I like the advert
