Resident Evil

Has anyone played these ports? What do they do better to warrant the price tag as opposed to just... Emulating the 20 yo games?

The article mentions "improved cutscenes and subtitles" but doesn't delve into the details. And the improved graphics can be achieved on any emulator these days.

I couldn't play them vanilla as I'm on Linux and they have lots of issues in Wine. I played them with the Rebirth mod and I'd say it's the best way to experience the game. It looks so much better than any of the console ports.
