I believe that's the plural form
The family surname comes from Czech and Slovak ancestry, translating literally to "stick in one's throat" (spelled bakuľa) but also meaning "liar".

I have a small collection of baculum. Obviously, nothing exotic, and only north american critters.
It's just cool stuff.
Fwiw, other than road kill, the entire connection collection was sourced from people that go out as winter ends and scrounge up animals that died and were preserved by the cold, then harvest what materials are salvageable from them.
