Autonation only has one trained EV mechanic it seems (which is ridiculous). And that person tends to go on vacation every time I need my car serviced.
I recommend contacting the Chevy EV concierge next time and asking for rental reimbursement while your car is in the shop.
The proprietary software and specialized components going into EVs are making it so only dealers can repair them, so I'm not surprised. Have you checked out all the Chevy dealerships in and around Austin? If you had a bad experience at Autonation, might try a different one

That makes sense.
I tried to get an appointment at another and was told they couldn't do the battery work.
Autonation does a good job it just takes them longer than it would if there were more mechanics available.
