A community for people who love Gentoo and want to discuss it, or ask for advice regarding Gentoo or its' package manager, Portage.

Speceficially the telemetry use flag. On one hand, fuck telemetry, but on the other hand, I trust FOSS developers to do the right thing vs the likes of Microsoft and Google.

I haven't. Firstly I hadn't noticed it and secondly I think KDE has plenty of users to draw telemetry from without my help. Maybe I'll reconsider in the future, but for now it stays off.

Of course now I also realize that with me using the unholy trinity of KDE + Wayland + nVidia, enabling telemetry might actually be helpful because as I understand it, the main purpose is to see how many people use Wayland vs X11, different drivers, etc, for prioritizing work on certain configurations.
