No that just seems like a general article about proton targeted for Norway, there was a specific article about how they now had enabled specific support for streaming NRK etc. The article isn’t important though.

Anyways, I guess the feature is based on Protons own DNS solution and that I cannot get it to work by rolling my own.
Check if you're leaking dns requests. I've had problems with my router itself leaking my info before. Just go on ipleak.net or similar and check what sites can see of yours and troubleshoot from there.
No I’m not leaking anything according to any tests, although I’m aware there has been some reports of proton vpn leaking IPv6 dns while on my setup previously.
