Do they names represent anything like in jokes?

I see Bydo and that always reminds me of the Bydo Empire from R-Type from the 80s

That's a really good question. Given that they are never named in the show, they would have free reign to do so. If I get the chance I'll ask Joseph Mallozzi and see if he knows.
