Alright guys this sub is a little dead and to bring a little discussion here I thought it would be fun to make some predications for next season!

MVP : Shai

DPOY : AD

MIP : Victor Wembayama

COTY : Redick

6MOY : Reid repeats

Champion : Thunder

I also predict the Nuggets will have a troubling season if no trades are made. Losing KCP and replacing him with Westbrook is going to be disastrous unless Braun really steps it up.

What’s some of your fun, realistic or even wild takes?

MVP: Luka

DPOY: Wemby

MIP: Wemby (feels weird to say given he was ROY and 2nd in DPOY but think he gets it)

COTY: Dagneault (Thunder Coach) Repeat

Darkhorse Candidate: Pop - if Spurs make playoffs I could see him getting it if no other candidate stands out. Partially due to legacy

6MOY: Malik Monk (has anyone won this b2b? kinda basing it off that)

WCF Winner: Nuggets

ECF Winner: Celtics

Champion: Nuggets (Source: Copium)

I think you’re likely right on them losing KCP though, they need to hit on most of:

  • Braun stepping up a level consistently
  • MPJ to improve more, I give him a bit of a pass on the cold shooting this year given the situations with his brothers
  • Watson developing some offense so he’s more playable
  • Westbrook sticking to his role and not trying to do too much
  • One of the young guys to step up and be solid for some bench minutes

I could see 1 or 2 of these happening but they need like 3-4 to win along with Murray playing like their winning season since the margin of error is so slim without KCP and how good the Celtics are.

I like the dark horse candidate! Pop would deserve it if he can take that team to a top 5 seed.

I like your picks. Luka is for sure going to be a top MVP getter and I’m ashamed to admit it but I forgot about him when I was making my predictions. Good call out on him and Pop!

No shame there’s a lot of good candidates honestly and Shai would be my (very close) 2nd pick!

I was hoping that OKC could have gone all the way this last season. It would have been a breath of fresh air to see a young team with a lesser known superstar win it all. I always root against Texas teams for social political reasons so was bummed when they were knocked out.

They’re a really fun team to cheer for! They are one of the deepest teams in the league and they have an absolute stud in SGA. I really believe this year is theirs for the taking!

Alright,

MVP: Luka

More of an "he's earned it" trophy but I think a dark horse is Giannis if the Bucks are able to live up to their potential. His greatness is kinda being undersold by his resume so far. I'm a Blazers fan and I want Dame to have a rebound year if the get the Ws Giannis always has a solid statistical argument. I'm a bit doubtful cus I think Doc was a horrible hire though. I think Shai is going to have the best season but voters will take a wait your turn approach.

DPOY: Wemby

Legit think they'll name the trophy after him someday.

MIP: Scoot or Shaydon Sharpe

Scoot for the cope. Sharpe cus I legit think he's going to have a break out year making a play for his extension in a couple years. I think this trophy should go to the "out of nowhere" players only.

Meme pick is CP3 for a bounce back year and a legacy award. Fun to think about too dudes a HOFer and 40 lol. Another pick is a random Indy roleplayer being elevated by Halliburton to an all-star caliber Stat line. Ant-Man has a good chance too if he keeps the momentum might get to mvp convo, get mip just for the recognition.

COTY: Mangualt IDK spelling

OKC should have a great season.

6th man: Reid

Its a perfect role for him and he adds so much.

Champion: Thunder

IDK contracts off the top of my head but I think okc makes a trade for Jerami Grant. Great plug in do it all veteran wing will eleavate that roster quite a bit. More young talent and good picks than roster spots and Blazers need to load up for what will prob be a long rebuild. The needs match up so well. Assuming there were no bad feelings when he left okc in FA though.

Edit: Clutch time player cus fuck it it's a real award now. Halliburton, cus why not he should get a trophy.
