Hi everyone! Fuck Reddit! (lemmy.whynotdrs.org)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Long, long story short, but I didn't even get banned from SS. I got my account(s) permanently suspended by reddit. (side note, reddit does not like if you overwrite and delete your account history every evening, just an fyi) Jsmar was the last decent SS mod. What happened to Half_dane, btw? Disappeared one day and that was it? He was probably a Rensole alt as best as I can figure.

There's probably nobody here that remembers who I was over my main/alt accounts, but I kept track and still keep track of users through RES and take notes. Every day, for years. I'm not going to go so far as to say ALL of the mods are plants at this point, but it's pretty close. SS sub is mostly spam accounts/bots/planted accounts/15-year-olds at this point. I have them all tagged and update my records when they do spam/bot things. There's almost no posters/commenters at this point that I haven't tagged, and I was suspended the day before thanksgiving last year. TL;DR There's not a lot of new users that comment in SS over the last year.

At any rate, hello. Nice to have a voice again.

I have some other devices I still downvote and report that stupid fucking starfish with every morning. The running 7.41 guy, and the dtcc comment guy. Then after market close I hit the sideways trading guy and the fucking "tomorrow" spammer.

None of those have anything to do with GME, all violate rule 2, and the mods certainly don't care to enforce the sub rules unless it hurts their personal feelers.

And as a final "hello" because this is a DRS GME sub. All my shit is DRSd, and I still don't believe it will actually do anything even if 200% of the outstanding shares are locked up in CS. There's bigger problems in the system and they're not gonna let their profit center collapse just because some retail folks bought up all the shares on paper. But they might, so I'm watching on the sidelines with the rest of you.

It is nice too see more and more Apes moving here. I am done with Reddit, SS seems compromised.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

100% compromised.

The shift was slow, but there is almost nothing of value in there anymore.

I've been getting more hands-on with reading the releases and documents personally for my DD, then turning to a couple of YouTubers to see if other think the same as me, or if there are other interpretations to consider.

I really like the PPShow on YouTube. They feature contributors on multiple sides of a play and generally manage a civil discussion.

Once Lemmy volume picks up, I'll switch over as a primary tool.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Exactly, it’s been comprised for quite some time now

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 year ago

Fuck Reddit and fuck Superstonk!

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago

Fuck Superstonk. Never forget: we were herded there amid nonsense mod drama. The name of Superstonk doesn't have any meaning that ties it to GME. This is to prevent people from finding it easily. I think it's always been compromised, meant to keep us separated from the rest of the internet

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Love when people keep receipts. Welcome to the instance!

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Receipts are the winning tickets. If for nothing else than "I fucking told you so"

I made a lot of friends on SS I still talk with. Reasonable, rationale people interested in discussion vs hopium. And I made a lot of enemies. Unfortunately, a lot of those enemies were the people that were mis-managing the sub.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Welcome! I feel the same way. I hope we didn't have any bad blood back on SS, I tried to be nice but grumpiness occasionally gets the better of me. Same handle.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well if you are here, you probably already know what you want.

For me it's transparency and accountability, and freedom of speech!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

This ⬆️

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Welcome! Happy to have you here.

I miss Jsmar too. He was last seen in the meltdown sub showing disappointment that the mods were defending their latest addition who drew hentai of canonically underage characters.

Half Dane is still on haitus I think. Not sure if they're going to come back from it or not at this point. Things definitely relaxed for a bit after they went. Didn't last though unfortunately.

I'd be very curious to see how you've labelled us as well as others in this database! Could be a good learning moment for how we come across within the community. Is it something you've considered sharing, or would it give the game away to bad actors?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ooh, yeah, I'd like to know what grades people got. Definitely a good chance for learning.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

🤓 I'm here for it!

I have tags on most of the users here that I recognize their names from ss. Mostly just little things like "daily chat poster" or "Plane tracker guy"

Lots of tags with simply "moron" I keep tabs on a lot of people who jump from stock to stock to push sentiment. LOTS of people spam SS/AMC/BBBY subs

Some tags that I make note of when someone accidentally reveals a little too much about themselves.

I'll see if I can get the data out of RES one of these days. It's more for my own personal reference though rather than any attempt at scientific data or reasoning.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Haha, I wonder how often you have to bust out the "moron" tag XD

Honestly it's a good idea, it's so hard to keep track of the hundreds of thousands of usernames! I'm terrible at remembering if I've spoken to someone before or not.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I have you at 5 downvotes. You probably said some stupid shit early on. I actually don't have you tagged on RES. In my informal record keeping you're basically a decent person lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Haha there's a good chance. Before I got into the broker guides I didn't have much value to add to conversations. Even after I got into them I'm sure ii has some moments!

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Fuck Superstonk. I've been there since the start, but it's a wreck now. Obviously now controlled, as we all feared would eventually happen.

Both 'Lemmy' and 'WhynotDRS' are banned words on that sub. The only reason to do that is to keep people there and under their control.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

It's containment. Don't let the people actually have free speech. Keep them in a little box and control that box until you have a narrative you've perfectly controlled.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

IM NOT FUCKING LEAVING!!!!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

And I can see you're still spamming over here lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

NOT LEAVING

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

🤣🤣 I like the starfish, not sure why. It is however much better here than that compromised place where you can’t even type SS. Freedom of speech is the way!

[–] cthulhuism 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m with you but to be fair it is the definition of spam

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

To me it was comforting having people doing simple tasks. Reverse repo for example added an interesting note on the feds moves. Sideways added perspective, and star was plain white humor. I get where you are going, and maybe this place will come to terms with that. Im looking foward to read some DD to be honest.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Reverse repo and other daily changing content posters are useful to give information to those who might not be bothered to look it up otherwise. On the other hand, you have the daily spammers who post the same stupid shit, and the bots like kaaroth that insta-grab RC tweets and post them.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

New username over here. Been hodling GME from the beginning tho, 100% booked. You can really tell that Reddit is a raging dumpster fire now and the heavy handed crackdown on brigading was sus to begin with and a huge step toward censorship. Hopefully things here are better.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I too got banned for overwriting my comments and then deleting them.

They went back and found a comment I made a few weeks before the deletion and banned me for harassment for insulting spez lol

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

Welcome. Glad to see you over here.

There's plenty of posts that didn't get much either. The guy walking up at 2:45 being the more annoying one for me.

Now they're playing the place crap again (seems like the Reddit crowd needed to get more attention after all the API changes they screwed up with)

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Welcome <high-five!>

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I liked the reverse repo update and the short volume & short interest updates. I liked the shares available to borrow updates and the utilization updates. I think all of these together helped paint a picture. It's odd that short interest is falling. Why is GME suddenly not at 100% utilization anymore? Why did computershared.net go down? Did someone sell off shares and they're trying to cover it up?

I still think MOASS is going to happen regardless - if there is not price increase then the shorts haven't closed. They've been shorting GME every day for the past 3 years. When they finally do close the price isn't going up a little bit. It's going to the Moon.

The reason they cracked down on heat lamp and pure book so hard is that they don't want more people doing that. It will make it impossible for the shorts to close and they are afraid of the infinity pool. I'm not sure we have enough people in DRS for infinity pool to happen, but the SHF's are definitely afraid of it.

I'd like to see some of the DD writers come over here. Is Zedinstead here? He's the DD library guy and I think he's one of the most important apes right now.

I would like to see someone make a new DRS chart like computershared.net it sucks that it went down.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

ONRRP is good info. All the ortex data is junk, as we all (hopefully) realized a long time ago.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm also hoping more DD writers come by here, if not to post original DD than to crosspost new DD or highlight their older posts.

As for Computershared - JonPro03 who runs it has been super busy with work and other stuff, and so the site isn't live updated as often. I did see earlier today he changed the site redirect from Superstonk over to DRSGME, which is appreciated. I'm not sure if there is anyone apprenticed to step in and fill his shoes on maintaining the site.

I'm friendly with Zed too - don't think that he's made an account here yet but I'll send him a DM and let him know he's been requested!

Just came over from reddit. I have done the same with tagging users /w RES, is there currently something like that here at lemmy?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Not native, as far as I am aware. It may be supported on some apps (but I do not know if, or which).

The nice thing about Lemmy being open source is that it's likely that someone will help code a working version of those tags, and eventually it can be rolled into the main branch. We'll keep updating this instance to bring on new supported features as they come.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Hey I am new here. Don't have much to say other than I like the stock, 100% booked pure DRS in my name and out of the DTCC's reach.
