I have just found £160 in an old wallet that ive not used for 6 months.

Although it's not really a win, the wife said we can use it to pay for paint and decorate the living room.

Note to self, don't be so open when finding spare cash!

Started a "community support" projects group with friends. We schedule a day to descend upon one of our houses and take care of whatever tasks need to be done - painting, yard work, home repairs, etc. It takes very little time with three or more people dividing the work, and we can chat and joke the whole time. We got a lot done, had fun together, and we're done by early afternoon.

Next weekend everyone is coming here to help cut up a fallen tree, and the weekend after we are renovating another friend's small dayroom.

That's a brilliant idea.

I've pondered whether we need a Good Deeds community as well as [email protected] -this feels like something that would fit in and inspire others.

It's a great way to turn work into a fun social activity.

It is indeed. My friends came round when I MVD into my new place and it was a frenzy of papering and painting. Got.mkre dine in a day or so then I've managed in a year as it is easy to go "I'm tired, I'll crack on tomorrow".

Are you open to membership? I'd like to join.

It wasn't my idea and it's an inherited friend group (they are my partner's friends) but you are more than welcome to grab this idea and run with it!

Two long walks with the dogs & no alcohol. And probably as a consequence, I’ve slept really well. In my age these are more than little wins.

They named you after an ale, you never stood a chance

Finally managed to get my uncle over. He's not very worldly (depressed, probably autistic - just like his father) and is struggle with his first lady friend. I don't think he really needed advice (he seems to have a good grip on the situation) but wanted to talk to someone about it. I think it helped. And I got a feed, plus some free Greek yoghurt. Bonus.

Back from a "holiday" to the Highlands. Lots of driving around between nice wee towns and incredible landscapes. But the real win is that I have just dossed around the house all weekend, and the car hasn't moved since Friday. Of course, there's next to no food on the house, but I feel chill af.
