In the age of 500 mb apps, a 18 mb one is a breath of fresh air.
I'm also using barely any data.
Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.
Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.
Jerboa is made by Lemmy's developers, and is free, open-source software, meaning no advertising, monetizing, or venture capital, ever. Your donations directly support full-time development of the project.

And the accessibility. More things need screen reader labelsas i am stuck using the web ui and would rather use the app
I do find the light and simple nature of this app to be highly appealing. Just give me some comments sorting options and fix the bugs with images and then I'd say this app is perfect
And let me change the size of the fonts! For some reason the comments aren't changed by the settings.
Also, changing fonts.
Yah, I've got the same experience. 🙁
Is it possible to collapse comments on Jerboa? If not a tap to collapse is my #1 feature request. Comment sorting would also be awesome. EDIT: Figured it out! Holding down horizontally next to a commenter's name will collapse! (With a slick animation), however I saw someone saying a newer release of Jerboa will have tap anywhere to collapse in comments.
Yep tap to collapse is working for me
I didn't know about this, thanks!
Related, having no trackers show up in TrackerControl for it is also very satisfying.
It's extremely efficient, particularly on iOS
I haven't tried it, I'm OK with using the browser. :)
I mainly use apps to be able to switch between apps using one switch apps button. Browsers like sleeping unused tabs and you can't just use the switch apps button to browse both the internet and the funny in intervals of dopamine-fueled multi-tasking.
