It's like a function call with the parameter (url) in the parentheses
By using it a lot ...and creating a markdown "cheat sheet" filed as the top notebook to make it easy to find. In there put anything useful: underscore, superscript/subscript, changing text color, aligning text left/center/right, how to use anchors within notes, how to jump directly to a heading in another note etc etc.
By using [TOC] in conjunction with headings in your notes & you can instantly jump to the appropriate heading within your cheat sheet note to look up how to use the markdown
