This is how he should have responded back in May. Own the fuck up from the get go and lay out the plan to correct. I can only assume the Wire Cutter dropping their recommendation a few days ago finally broke them.

They should also be apologizing about their new ToS where they removed the bit about not selling your data.

The app and the new ToS were too much back to back for me and I sold all my Sonos stuff and began looking into home rolling solutions.

They explained why the change was made. There’s no change to the actual privacy practices.

What kinda solutions you find? Snapcast is pretty good, used it a few times for multi room audio with old android phones running spotify, hooked up soundbars.

I’m more annoyed that the app is just so much worse now. Lags during updates so much so that it’s faster for me to use the Home Assistant integrations and dashboards to manage my Sonos devices rather than the app itself!
