Was I stupid to have expected Havertz's Volley challenge results wouldn't be used to label him a flop?

@HaleEndGrad @little_niggle all too inevitable Im afraid...

This whole skill challenge thing is so unapologetically American hahaha I wonder how the all-stars match will go...

last season I remember watching the game with American commentary and it sounded like a WWE match

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

@little_niggle saw some of this on yt. The commentary for what looked like a glorified training exercise 😬

I'm a legacy fan and the skill thing had me scratching my head!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Can you imagine them trying that in London? Imagine Glasgow!!

I quite enjoy the skills challenge, it's a bit of fun. If you think about it, it's a PR event to grow the sport.

Speaking of commentary, Fruit TV managed to somehow snag 2 out of the 3 most annoying sportscaster in America in Twellman and Kaylyn Kyle...they're just missing Lalas. One thing good about Fruit TV is they do have the option to sync the local radio as audio, it's a great option whenever I need to watch a game on there because their TV crew is quite ass.

@[email protected] congrats on the ad! looks fucking fantastic; recognised your style immediately.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Thanks! It was wild to be asked to do it.

Next you'll be drawing Xhaka running for whatever the Swiss equivalent of President / PM is lol

Heard Pepe to Al-Saviour FC broke down.

America likes a show lol

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Really need some Americans commentating a PL fixture

Went to get a Caitlin Foord Matildas shirt today. Saw the new Arsenal away shirt IRL. Def one for the younger folk and less for the old geezers (like me). Player issue version looks better than fan version.

If we win something major I can see this shirt becoming one for the ages, a cult classic even. Im sure the bruised banana had people scratching their heads when it was first released and look at how it is perceived now!

Like winning the league at Old Trafford on 12 May 2024. Mark it in your calendar!

[–] Astrealix 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Nah we've gotta win one at the Ashburton. May 4th against Bournemouth seems fine

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They will be wearing the home kit rather than the dayglo one…

[–] Astrealix 2 points 2 years ago

yeah but if we win at the Etihad in it in a season we win the league, both kits will be legendary lol

or just win it in general; i'm mostly just wanting a title win at the Ashburton

[–] Astrealix 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'm like 19 and I hate it, so idk what y'all are on about for it being for the young'uns lol

I say that because of the general demographic I thought the promo video was pitched at. Apart from Martin Kemp, of course.
