Yes, two weeks ago on the NorCalBDR. We reamed and cleaned the hole, applied glue, plugged and inflated the tire. Rode another 500 miles or so and it’s still holding. But the real reason I like this tool is the cylinder enclosure and the simple way it breaks down. I’ve struggled keeping standard “T” shaped tools from poking holes in my bags. They are awkward and usually two separate tools which take up more room than they should. This tool takes up little room but provides good grip to push the plug in when assembled. The rope plugs are nothing special. In my experience this type of plug usually works fine. YMMV
Photo for proof. Glue is required. Beer is optional.
You have a preferred glue? How do you like the tiger (assumiy it is a tiger)?
No, I think they’re all the same. Whatever is convenient. The bike with the flat was a friend’s 97 BMW R1100 GS. It’s a beast. Ohlins at both ends and it rides great. Super stable but not exactly responsive. We noticed The paralever developed a crack on day 6 and he decided to end his trip early. Otherwise it’s a great vintage ADV bike. I’m on a KTM 890 this year which is a real rocketship.
