Found this on memes on shit just works, thought it was funny. Then learned that crossposting is harder on this platform.

Just as an fyi, under a post (at least on the web ui) is a crosspost button, it looks like two squares on top of each other.

It has the nice benefit that people subscribed to both communities only see one version of the post, and provides backlinks to the original community.

Thanks, I'm on Jerboa so I need to figure that out at some point.

As a user of Jerboa and I don't think it has that feature yet, sadly.

Hopefully this doesn't end up in admins defederaring from yiffit, like some users suggested. I already had to move my account to another instance, as my first one blocked it completely and it's the only source for sfw furry stuff.

It's too bad people are talking of blocking at an instance level. Just because yiffit (and lemmynsfw) have a lot of porn posts at the moment doesn't mean that's the only thing they'll ever do. I wonder if we could get like categories for instances, so yiffit-porn could be blocked without taking out the entire instance. Or even just a per-instance NSFW toggle.

Well they are talking about that because the necessary tools to block at a community level are not their at the moment.

They are either proposed to be added at a future date or being worked on for future iterations of Lemmy.

That or if a group of devs not tied to actual Lemmy development, decide to fork it and develop such a feature in their forked version of Lemmy, it will be a while before such a game changing feature like that makes it into the upstream.
