Did this even get streamed in the West? I wanted to watch it but couldn't find it anywhere...

I didn't watch this series, but the only option I could find after a quick search in my region (US) is streaming through Amazon Prime. Otherwise, sailing the high seas is a fallback for when other routes fail.
Wait it was on Prime?! Oops...
If you were like me and wondered to yourself, "Is golf even popular in Japan?" Then, you might be surprised to know there is a long history of golf anime in the country. If you want to learn more, @[email protected] wrote an excellent piece about golf anime and the surprising, recent influence that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on them over at Anime Herald. Definitely recommended reading.
This is so sweet of you to share my work like this, thank you! I'm also pretty excited for Season 2 of Tonbo! as it was a surprisingly touching tale emotionally, even with all the technical golf talk.
I clearly remember a golf anime from the mid 80s. After a quick search, the original name was Ashita tenki ni naare.
Never really watched it at the time, but a lot of my elementary class school mates were into it.
Good! The first series was unexpectedly great.
Wow, I wasn't expecting anyone to say that.
What made the show good for you?
