Shambles is the word. Not enough printing capacity? Not enough IT staff to run the print job? Not enough posties to deliver or sort? This should surely have been known about 2 weeks ago! We're less than a week out now and anyone without a ballot in hand or in the post across the highlands and islands is now unlikely to have their votes count

Fife and Edinburgh councils are opening emergency voting stations now. They must be pretty worried about it if they're having to do that. What a mess.

Better safe than sorry, with all the lawyers in Edinburgh, I wouldn't bet against a civil suit if they don't do this
