I went to change some outlets at a friend's house n seen that there wasn't a ground.....at least I thought. The Romex is grounded at the panel but the outlet that I opened had the grounds cut back to where the romex jacket is stripped. The tester shows a lot of other outlets with open grounds too, yet three pronged outlets were installed! I was able to complete the outlet by stripping back a little more jacket and pulling enough of the grounds out to get a wire-nut on em....not easy and want to use butt splices due to the limitations. What are your thoughts?
