I imagine the conversations in this thread will help people empathise, or at least understand, the perspective of those who place human life above animals as justification for continuing to eat meat

These guys don't even believe what they're saying. Imagine a "literally no difference between dog and potato" guy when a fire breaks out. They're just looking back and forth between a houseplant and an infant trying to decide.
